That is pretty amazing, just be careful not to be distracted. It reminds me of a Lexus LS 430 ad from Australia where a stunt driver used the backup camera on a highway.

Not only isn't it distracting to use the rear camera full time, it's an incredibly useful safety feature.

On my Lamborghini, visibility seems optional at best. Huge B pillars, tiny rear window, huge engine back there, etc. My Nav system has a full time rear camera. It's my rear view mirror. Since it has a wide-angle lens, you don't have the normal blind spots. It's amazingly useful. I really miss that when I drive my LS430.

I'm thrilled to hear that this can be hacked. It will be on very frequently on my car. Thanks.

What is it about that video image that's wrong? Is the camera not reversed, or inverted. Trying to figure it out looking at it, but things appear backwards. Very different than the image on my rear view camera. Is it that way when backing up also?

Also - is this the long awaited Nav system hack. Is it Up-Down-Up-Down-Up-Down-Up on the display screen where the image is, but not at the extreme edges of the screen? Is this the holy grail?????

I think it's the crack in the hack - the leading edge of the wedge, as it were. Just like the iPhone...

I don't think it's inverted or mirror-imaged, from my backing up experiences, otherwise, you'd hit obstacles easily.

I'll have to do it on the road in a couple of days. It's hard to explain also. I'm pretty sure that the image is a mirror image on my car, so that the right side of the image shows cars passing you on the right, and the left side of the image shows cars passing you on the left of the car (although no one passes my lambo.)

I think your image isn't inverted, so that it's confusing while driving. Don't forget that when the camera is pointed backwards, the camera's right is the car's left, and vice-versa.

Not sure if that explained it, but I'll try with a picture later.

Point well taken, I will try playing around with the settings and see if therez a button for getting the view un-mirrored.
