Lexus LS460/600h Coupe . . .

The low volume demand for a luxury LS Coupe would translate into a forbiddingly high sticker price. Check out the difference between MB & BMW Coupes compared to their equivalent Sedans. For example, Acura dabbled with a CL Coupe to mate up to their TL Sedan, and only sold about 17,000 units (second gen). This would represent a significant loss when overlayed against the enormous investment needed to produce the car. It's too bad, because the CL was the first car totally designed & made exclusively in North America by Honda. It was and still is a great car - I know, I had one.
Consider what target demographics the LS is aimed at, add to that Lexus' resistance to produce an IS Coupe (even the IS-F is a Sedan), and it sheds some light into their thinking. Hey, I love Coupes, but a hell of lot of people don't think the same way I do.

The W216 CL-Class from Mercedes I personally find it ugly.
But it must be said: the car has class, in volumes!
From the pillarless sides to the subtle, elegant, yet in-your-face styling to the major effortless power. It's a coupe fit to have the name...
Lexus needs to come out with a torquey V8 / V12 (I think the hybrid works because those electrical motors help with torque) and they need to sit down for a few years for design. If they bring another SC430 to the market it'll flop. I'm simply saying it as I see it. I would love to be able to buy a Lexus luxury coupe (not some SC430... something with grace) but I want to make sure it's perfect. Simply chopping off the doors was 10 years ago as someone stated.

I think they can make a LS460-based coupe & sell it at about C$12K above the base LS460L, with the **** standard for the coupe, which means about C$110,000+ (LS460L starts at C$98,700), & since it's a coupe, it doesn't need many of the extra cost rear-seat options.
It's still fine with me as long as it's not more expensive than a loaded LS460L (a little more than C$120K), & will probably consider getting one if they make it.

But this pic, oh man, it's spectacular. And I think as far as luxo-coupes, this might be the best looking one on the planet IMO right now.

An IS Coupe has already been confirmed by Lexus. The next-gen SC likely won't look like the LS, rather I expect it to have somewhat more racy and aggressive styling.
