tallcaguy...I thought ALL LS430 had heated rear seats, but then I believe there is a dealer in Florida that orders without (no need in Florida, sells for less $ ) my premium has heated rear seats. do you not have heated rear seats in always sunny California? that would be a drag to get one shipped to Iowa and not have them.

Just checked. No heated seats. I've managed to get by without them (in the back). However very glad the front seats are heated. It actually does get cold in Nor Cal. I've owned an LS for 4+ years. Today is the first time I've sat in the back. There's enough space to camp or throw a party! Plan to sit back there next time my wife drives. Bring a bottle of good wine.

According to the 2006 brochure, heated rear seats come with the premium package and above....without must be a base with a la carte options....

one inconsistency I have always found is the brochure seems to imply perforated seats are custom luxury and above, but mine is a ML and has perforated cashmere seats...

Maybe 05-06? My 04 has ML audio, NAV, heated/cooled front seats, perforated seats, rear shade, etc. Maybe I'm missing something but no visible controls for rear heated seats.

Holger's pic with the rear armrest/cup holders shows the heated seat switches.....in front of the front cup holder....

Great photos, Holger! She looks incredible for 101K, or even 50K!

Tallca, ours is an 06 ML with perforated rear seats and it has the heated rear seats just like Holger's, as John pointed out.

Holger; What part of Iowa are you in? I was just in Des Moines on a rescue flight repairing one of our planes that had an engine problem. Relatives in Davenport and Clinton.

When you say "Exterior lock/unlock buttons, are these the buttons on the arm rest to lock or unlock the doors, or do you have something on the exterior of the car to lock/unlock the doors??

What?! Your wife is 22! lol

There has to be logic (computer) behind the handles....as mentioned, when my driver actuator was out, they did not work at all. So there must be a troubleshooting/decision tree out there somewhere. I was in suspense for 2 weeks waiting to see if they would work once the dealer replaced the actuator, and sure enough, they worked....it's really a useful feature. Without, then having a fob is no different than my '98 Maxima, you always have to have it in your hand and click it, just a fob, not a smart key....good luck.

Ok I do have heated rear seats. Found the controls. Like I said in a earlier post, no experience with the back seat. I'll remember to use heated (or cooled) when back there enjoying good wine.

I learned that my car had a timing belt when I took it in for 90,000 mile service. ouch that was a painful lesson. When I was made aware of the 3rd sun visor, the one above the rear view mirror I believed I knew it all. still learning
