Seatbelt Source
So my 2004, the drivers seat belt is frayed. Also the re-tractor doesn't function well. so its usually hanging down when I close the door. I either flop it back inside or feed it back up.
So...I need a new belt assembly. My friend with a car shop said its a $300 part! I dont want to get a junkyard special because the re-tractor could be just as wore out.
Where have folks bought replacement seatbelts at?

I would go to a salvage yard or Ebay and grab a used one even though you're afraid it might be worn out.
Usually the manufacturers go above and beyond when making seat belts because there is so much liability there, so they go the distance.
FWIW, I've had 3 Lexus with an average of around 150k miles and none of them have any seatbelt issues. In fact, I'm not sure I've had a seatbelt issue on any car that's newer than 20 years. So I think the odds are in your favor.
The only other option would be new. I wouldn't trust an aftermarket solution.

You should check directly with Lexus. Just had a 16 yr old Honda CRV seat belt and clips replaced for free at the Honda dealer. Lexus should stand up and do the same, in my opinion. If dealer doesn't do goodwill, call and ask Lexus customer care.
