Default I was poking around under the rear bumper

....where's the fuel tank? I figure what's between the two mufflers with heat shields is the spare tire?

Also, are our mufflers painted black? It appears the rear horizontal faces and a bracket are, hard to tell with the body of the mufflers themselves. To date, has anyone replaced them due to corrosion?

Today, I went to this strip mall to get a haircut, and these two shady dudes were staring at me, driving a Volvo wagon. I park, and they cruise by again, "Hey, I noticed your bumper is scratched. I can fix it, I have the pearl. You want an estimate?" Um, no thanks. Reminds me of the days when people either sold stolen stereo equipment or frozen shrimp out of a van. I almost wondered if these unsavory gents were gonna f up my car.

Fuel tank is under the rear seat. Not sure if mufflers/resonators are painted black from the factory... My exhaust system has not been touched at all and I'm having no issues

I think you guys have different terms for stuff, like I heard you call a hood a bonnet, and a trunk a boot.

I googled "muffler" using your online dictionary:

"silencer:"

A part of a vehicle that is optional and often removable if desired

Emphasis on optional and removable. I was being a smartass though, but my cars rarely have mufflers of any kind. My Mondeo did because it was a nice car and my Corona does because $300 car
