I am not joking, I never see 3rd gen LS430's on the road. The second to last time, was 2 coming back the Sunday after Thanksgiving, in the NYC area. This seems like it's a rare car!! Then there was one that pulled out behind me, one day at night when I filled up at Costco, that was 1 1/2 wks. ago.

I think the original selling price of this car is what keeps them in rare sight in some markets. Where I live in Milwaukee, other than the 2 in my garage, I rarely see another 3rd gen LS. I see 1st/2nd gen cars almost every other day, but the 3rd gen cars are few and far between. 4th gen cars are non existent around here.
Now, that being said, driving to the suburbs, where the dealership is located, and affluence is a little more abundant, I've been in parking lots at various stores and have seen 1 or 2 other 3rd gen and 4th gen cars sitting there.
Interesting side note, I was driving home on the freeway from Chicago last week, and another LS passes me and the guy actually looked over and acknowledged me.
Not that I'm watching cars go past while driving, but I seem to spot the LS's when they are in my field of view.
When we visit the Miami area, I tend to see more 3rd gen cars, and even more 4th gen cars.

I believe the LS430 was selling 20-25,000 cars a year. As time went on sales of the LS460 started to decline to low numbers. Another reason for a complete refresh soon. However prices have ballooned and the Luxo market is competitive while the newest LS models look too similar to the rest of the model line. I'm never sure I'm looking at a LS460 unless I'm right next to it or look a the badge. I'm sure the LS400 and LS430s are the flagship cars Lexus will be remembered by the longest for style, longevity and of course reliability.

I believe they only sold about 150,000 and all at least 11 years ago. I see more LS400 and I still cannot tell an LS460 from an ES so I quit looking

When I'm on the freeway, I have to get close to see if it's a 460. Was in a parking lot the other day, looked over at what seemed to be a 460. Again, I couldn't really tell until I walked over to check. From the back, it's not very impressive. From the side? Yeah the style kicks in. I keep trying to talk myself into buying one. I've done several test drives. Nice and all but when I get back in my 430 to drive home, it just feels higher quality and more luxurious.

I live near Sacramento. Small town (55k). There are (8) 430's that I know of. Older owners and cars look well maintained. On a freeway trip usually see a couple. LOL got a thumbs up from one driver. Can usually find a couple in well to do communities in the area. Still a popular car out here. If a Lex (or major name) dealer lists one, it sells quickly.

I've only seen three of them around here since I bought my car back in October. One I saw less than a mile from home and the latest one I saw sitting along the side of the road with a for sale sign on.
I also did have a LS460 trailing me for about a mile earlier today. Was somewhat surprised when I looked into my rearview mirror...

In North Carolina, just in my city alone i've seen about four or five LS 430's just in a mile radius parked in various places.
Back in my home town Indiana, and Chicago there are almost NONE.
Most likely weather related i.e. most go for FWD or 4WD, but still. I havent seen an LS 430 at all in the northern-ish midwest.

In Denver it’s like finding a Unicorn…. I see a 430 maybe every 2 or 3 months. 460’s I’m lucky if I see one every 6 months. Last 460 I saw was a 460L this past summer. I want one……

I see quite a few 430's driving around my neck of the woods (bay area); 400/460's too. They all seem to be very well cared for. Just the other day I spotted a home with both a 430 and a 460; had to park mine for a group shot.
