Default Went the safe route but I'll get there.

I was thoroughly researching LS430s in my very limited area of Oahu Hawaii and I pulled away from a dealer car that would have run me 9k with 67k and no timing belt change. Well I found an amazing deal on an 04 es 330 which should keep my vehicle costs low for the next few (compared to leasing or purchasing new).

I've had some really bad luck with used cars in the past couple years looking for the newest low mileage models I could find, only to be zinged with depreciation. For example, I purchased a civic hybrid for 8k not long ago and decided to dump it when it's stupid regenerative braking showed an issue that would eventually be something only the dealer could fix, pretty much making the car worth pennies. I lost a lot on it.

So as luck would have it another stunning LS came out today. Again no timing belt but a 2003 with great service records for about 8k. It has little engine oil smell so I'm sitting right but it just goes to show that there are opportunities even on my small little island. I'm going to save my pennies and wait till I can swoop in again with a wad of cash. I can't wait to eat posting here soon. Perhaps by then it will be in the LS460 group.

The ES will be slightly easier on gas for you, but not as luxurious as the LS. The 3VZ-FE is a good engine, but it is occasionally prone to eating oil. I know the early 3.0 versions had issues with the valve covers and oil being drawn up through the PVC valve and burned through the intake, but I'm not sure what the 330s issues are. There are loads of posts on Clublexus concerning the ES, which will keep you reading for hours!

Enjoy the ride and feel free to post a pic here. We won't be offended...

Congrats on the ES!

I suppose when I look at used cars, I would try to get what I would have liked if I had ordered new, meaning color and options. I've concluded I would have wanted CL with the sport suspension.

Edit: I got a ML with no sport, but sport seems to be like a white whale.....I really like the badges but refuse to just glue them on lol

My sis in-law got a '17 A4, and I told my bro' you absolutely want a sport package, it's so cheap, and you'd want it for the seats alone. Sis in-law not interested, it's her car, and the way it's equipped is most important to the person buying it, not anyone else....with that being said I would not waiver between RWD and FWD. FWD is simply not desirable for me....I know I will likely cave in, if we ever were to get a new car, it would likely be yet another AWD since it snows here....
