LSD for the LS?
What differential did Toyota put in these things? All I know its a peg legged, one tyre fire, single spinning work of art. Are there any LSD heads out of a JZZ30 Soarer/SC300/400, JZX100 Chaser or JZA80 Supra that will go in the LS housing? The single spinner caught me out this morning when it decided to spin twins and spun me around at 25mph, and made me look like a complete douche looping out a limousine

LOL when I got my 335i I was told limited slip was reserved for M cars. A buddy told me, "Basically, you have 1WD."
Gotta add limited slip to a must have on the next car.

Yeah, you can buy a part. Or you can put in a mk.4 supra diff. But I think the supra diff is super expensive and there's one part you have to swap between the two differentials - I think someone in the 2nd gen LS400 forum did it once upon a time.
But the Supra LSD diff has a 3.133 rear end, we have 3.27s in the 01-03 and the 04-06s have 3.62 final drives? You can find out more in this thread.

My 1993 LS400 is supercharged and I did not like the "one wheel peel" so I tried to to find an OEM LSD that would fit the original pumpkin. I tried LSDs from MKIII and MKIV Supras, and from an IS300. None of these options would work. I considered having the MKIV Supra pumpkin frankensteined onto my car with custom axles but the labor cost was too high and there was no guarantee that it would work well. I wound up buying a very expensive Cusco LSD that was designed for the car. It has worked out well so far.

Would I just have to fit the diff head or swap the whole housing out? I'd imagine the diff head would be the way to go. Not worried about diff ratios being slightly shorter, the gas mileage is utter rubbish as it is

Cheers for your input Kitabel. I live in JDM heaven so all of those cars are fairly plentiful here. I might give it a crack, buy a complete unit out of a Supra or Soarer or something and start taking notes of how they fit. Might be able to get away with it I reckon. The LS just sits in the yard anyway so no biggie if its off the road for however long it takes
