Default Tilt/Telescope Failure At Start-up

My steering wheel retracts properly when the engine is shut off but at times does not move back at start-up. A touch of the memory seat button will sometimes bring the wheel back to the preset position. In searching past posts, a few have discussed replacing the tilt motor to solve this problem but have never circled back and confirmed their success (or failure) after replacing this part. So, I am curious if anyone has had any experience with this repair. While I enjoy this feature, it is a "nice to" and not a "need to".

Been there. Replace tilt motor. If I did it again I'd replace both at the same time. Telescopic usually dies not too long after the tilt.

Yeah, unfortunately this is one of the LS's achilles heels. The motors stop functioning eventually. The 05 I just bought has now stopped telescoping. I lubricated it and it got better, but not sure how long it will last...

Yup, there too... Had my 2001 for like 7 years before that happend, it stinks that that little part is like $350-400...

I'm living with out it for a bit...

If you have TechStream, you can disable it coming out when the car is started, so it stays where it is....or it's a dealer thing.
