Default Satisfied at dealer todayx

asked for coolant and brake flush (had the car three weeks so want to start off with those as new). Again, I think their machine is more effective than DIY. $192 before taxes, using 20% coupon. I bet a muffler shop would get almost the same, and likely cheat (I hope the dealer would not, ie bleed only one caliper or exchange only the master reservoir). I know it's fluff, but when I pulled in, the guy complimented me and said the LS430 is the most desirable Lexus....hahahahahaha

downside.....they recommended lca bushings, motor mounts, and timing belt water pump in the future....

customer service way better than BMW (like they're trying to win an award). But, BMW gives loaners out like candy, I did not ask but looks like Lexus does if the job takes > x hours.....

what is your car's mileage? you can always go to a cheaper place for the work if you think it needs to be done. I like Lexus service, but not going to pay their price for brakes or spark plugs. however they are the only place I would trust to do the transmission service right. I am almost 120,000 miles and expect LCA soon. Lexus will inspect ball joints and other stuff on next service. if they say I need ball joints, transmission mounts and lower control arm bushings I will just take it down the street to an independent (after I buy parts online). still learning

I'm at almost 83k......I found a Japanese indie who will do the timing belt water pump for $775. The exact dealer price was $1405.44, and they said they could take off 20%. Coolant flush was $159 before discount. Oddly, over the phone I was told $197. I will take a closer look at the color as it should be pink, it was not before, red to something else implying mixed topped with something else...

Coolant flush for $159 or $197 is pretty pricey considering it's an easy DIY job. They call them stealerships for a reason.

I would have waited on it considering you're looking a timing belt job in the near future, they're going to have to drain the coolant all over again to do that job.

The thing about DIY (I replaced my Maxima's radiator in 2015), is it is not really possible to get the old coolant all out. Undo the chocks on the block, better. Let's say you flushed the entire system to 100% garden hose water, now what? Drain the radiator and fill with 50/50? You're well under 50/50. Now you have tap not distilled water. Do you have a way of flushing with distiller water? There is no 100% pink super long life supposedly, which implies you have no concentrate to raise the coolant % (don't use Toyota super long life is the easy workaround). I prefer 65/35 or 70 if you can get it there. The job was $127.54 net, I'll take it. When my uncle had a shop and I could use the coolant exchange machine, then DIY was fine. No shade tree that I know has such a machine.

brake flush? I DIY my BMW because I have the software, the motive, and lots of dot 4 from my abs pump rebuild. But this car! I'm ok with paying the $56.58.

it's nice to call them stealers, but a) they have overhead

so as my title stated, 100% satisfied with their work.
