Literally more 430s I see than not have that bulb out. Mine was one of them but it was a quick fix. Cops love to pull you over for that.

How about so many cars in general have at least one of the 3 rear brake lights out. I wish I had a dollar for every car I see. Instant retirement!

lol at all these responses, guys! Yeah I noticed mine out a few months ago, and so now I always check other 430s I see. I'd say a good 75% of all the 04-06s I see have the third bulb out. Apparently the "check bulb" works in the 01-03 but doesn't for our third light in the 04-06 models.

I installed a custom LED light panel of 30 Philips lumileds in the high mount brake on one of my '06's ... hope that'll never burn out.

Just replaced mine in my 04, bulb was definitely bad, I didn't have a warning light either.

Mine was out whe I got my 04. Changed it withe a replacement LED. Been working for 18 months so far.

Yeah it works.. My '01 has it. Funny how it dosent work in the newer ones.

I made my third brake light led and incandescent.

Our '01 brake light is still operational. And, I can attest to the prowess of the '01 (through presumably '03) warning system when a light is out or suspect; works extremely well and is quite annoying until you rectify the faulty bulb condition.

just changed it today, went to get a 7440LL bulb and there was one pack on the shelf at Advance Auto, and the package looked like it were 10 years old! The old was burnt and made in Japan....

Also when i asked someone to step on the brakes so I could see, the tails clearly illuminate ms before the 3rd brake light...
