Default Strange problem with nav screen

So I got home from work tonight and everything was fine with the car, I had to go back to the hospital about 3 hours later and I noticed the nag screen is blank, no error messages just blank. The voice command button seems to be inoperative as well as the menu button. Everything else seems to work fine, the screens for climate and audio etc all seem to work fine. What could cause this problem?

Is there a fuse that controls the part of the nav that holds the cd, I tried to remove the cd today and when I hit eject nothing happened, as if there were no power to the unit.

Sounds like a fuse for the screen died. There's a fuse for the radio in the panel located in the driver's foot well, left side but I don't remember which one it is.

But all the other screens work, the screen for the climate and the radio work fine. It started working again yesterday and today the nag is blank again.

My head unit works when it wants to now. I get the "external device is not connected" "check the system", "check the connection to the air conditioner" and audio off. Could this be a fuse?

Intermittent working is not typically a fuse, but it's easy enough to check first. Could be simply a wiring harness connection, or a relay in a ECU/ECM.

If its anything like mine you will have to get it repaired. Apparently there are some capacitors or something that get damaged inside the unit and need to be resoldered. Not cheap but 6-8 months later i'm in good shape.

Audio and climate still work which is good. Anything else? Backup cam?

It depends on what the owner wants. However, losing the NAV might reduce repair problems (like not folding mirrors and no tilt/telescope wheel). I use my iPhone to navigate. However it is very nice to have the backup cam! Which fuse should I pull to disable the NAV unit?

I actually do not have a back up cam. It started working again. We have had some really nasty thunderstorms the past 2 days. I'll see if it still works tomorrow.
