Hey guys,
I'm pretty fed up with my MML and really regret the purchase.
I'm going to take it out and install something else.
Is there any chance any there's some kind of warranty on this thing and I can return it?
I'll even be happy to get 50% of the initial cost and none of the installation costs back.
Damian.

Update. I've thrown out the unit. It virtually stopped working all together when I upgraded my device to an iPhone X.
I did offer it for sale for almost 4 months for $50 on 2 of the most popular sites and not one person bid/bought.
I've since then upgraded again to a Pixel2XL and wouldn't have any functionality anyway.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I eventually got the Yatour unit which i now have in my 460 going on a year and it still works. From time to time it will shut down and the only way to get it back on is shut down the car but it's been pretty reliable. For $79 I'm not complaining.

Hi Damian, sorry to hear about the issues. I only just saw this old thread. I also live in Australia and I have a 04 LS430. In 2014 I wanted more audio options than just the standard radio/cd player so i bought a Vaistech MML-L1.
i just wanted something to play mp3s etc and still keep all the factory controls/radio. I installed the unit myself. It was very easy with the plug and play harness, just taking out the radio to plug in the harness was a hassel but once you've done it once its easy. I couldnt seem to fit my MML behind the stereo so i installed it in a space behind/underneath the glovebox and fed the usb cable through the cabin filter door. Worked well with no drilling or cutting. I downloaded 100s of my music files onto a usb and now i just have that plugged into the cable in the glove box. All factory controls are the same and comes up as a multi disc on the nav screen. I still use the factory oem bluetooth for phone calls. I havent experienced any major bugs or issues with the MML. Only 1 time (a long time ago) it did play a cd and mp3 at the same time, but i was pressing buttons at the time and i just switched it off and back on and it seem to reset. The only thing i dont like is the 'fast fowarding' or 'rewinding' part of a mp3 song on the unit as its very laggy and delayed. Eg if playing music from the factory cd you press and hold the '^^' or 'vv' button on the nav screen and it fast fowards or rewinds back through a song instantly and you take your finger off the button and it responds instantly. When doing this from the mp3 song from the MML its delayed badly by 10 seconds or more and you cant easily stop at a point in a song. That was my only complaint.
