Default LS from California - Any Differences?

Looking at a LS from California. to replace my '02 UL with 165k. Are their any differences due to the California emissions rules? Thank you.

Sorry if somewhat off the original question, but why are you looking to replace your 02? Age? Expensive problems? New series? ) 04-06?

There should not be as the LS430's engine is ULEV. I believe it was one of the first if not the first engine to qualify. Thus, I am almost positive that there is not a model specific to California.

I don't think there are any differences. When I was looking for parts for my car, I noticed that all the emission stuff said 50 state legal.

BUT, there IS if you replace parts IN CA.... If you live in CA, you need OEM parts, it's not legal to use 3rd party for exhaust parts.. Once the car leaves CA you will need to refer to local laws but, CA is very strict on it.

I should have mentioned when I was looking for parts for the LS it was regarding to the OEM catalog. Aftermarket parts are a different story of course.

The car I was considering has been sold. While it's nice to know and I appreciate all of the answers, it is no longer necessary. Thank you.
