Default Removing front lower control arms

Has anyone been able to remove the front cam bushing bolt from the front lower control arm. If so how did you do it ? I tried tapping it out with a 2# hammer, but it didn't budge. Bolt looks like it is set up for a press since the end has a dimple in it. My replacement A-Arm front bushing just looks like a straight-thru hole. So I can't figure out why it would be so difficult to get out. Is there some sort of retaining pin that I am unaware of that needs to be pulled out first?

Did you disconnect the lower strut bolt first? If it is under pressure it will be hard to remove. There is no pin holding it in. Should tap right out if everything is disconnected. Torque on reassembly is 127 ft-lbs for the cam bolt.

I had everything disconnected including the strut. I hit it really hard several times with a 2# sledge and it didn't budge. I was starting to mangle the nut I had threaded onto the end of the bolt, and since I didn't have a spare I held back from going medieval on that sucker.

Does the bolt rotate? If it does it should be rotated so there is no load on it. Maybe there is some corrosion behind the cam. It really should come out quite easily.

It wouldn't rotate without moving the whole arm. It would not rotate independently of the arm. I guess it has corroded to the point where it has welded itself inside the arm. I guess I will just buy and new set of bolts and plan on cutting it out.
