ABS Control Module Location?
Hey guys,
I was hoping someone knows where the ABS Control Module (Also called Skid Control ECU) is located. I've had my ABS, VSC Off, and Headlight Leveling error message for a couple of weeks and have determined that the module is fried. I have tried disconnecting the battery to erase all the codes and the error pops up before I even start the car. Also, I was also getting a VSC Code 43 when tried to re calibrate, which upon researching, can also mean that the module is fried. With 192,000 miles on my 02 LS, something was bound to break eventually. I bought a replacement online but I'm not sure where it is located. I think its next or near to the ECU, but I want to be certain before I start taking stuff apart. Any input would help!
Thanks,
Ron

Thanks bud, I was able to find it and swap out the module, but it did nit resolve my problem. The battery was disconnected (of course) during the half hour it took me to do it so whatever codes should have cleared. However, when I reconnected the battery and switched the ignition to on, check vsc warning and the abs light come on. Tried also doing the re-calibration and get VSC code 43 still. Anyone has any ideas of what it could be that is causing this issue?

DTC 43 points to Malfunction in Deceleration Sensor.
You had mentioned that a calibration has been done. I'm including the zero-point calibration procedure here for reference.
Here is the troubleshooting procedure.

This is exactly the procedure I followed. When I get to step a-3, I still get VSC code 43. I'm starting to think it is my yaw rate sensor that is the malfunctioning. The only other thing I can think of is the big skid/ABS relay by the ABS motor. It does make the regular clicking noise when I turn the switch on, so I assume it is operational.

WHERE THE EFF IS THIS DAMN MODULE!? I've torn the whole dash apart. Pulled the cluster (meter) out, the radio, etc. The picture had it located above the brake light switch....there ain't nothing there! I'm trying to trace wires from the R/R speed sensor to the ABS module (no 12v signal at R/R wheel). This will be my last Lexus. I am less than impressed with this vehicle. My mom had problems with hers that were thousands to fix and now I'm having problems with mine that are.....thousands to fix.

The OP was asking questions about his/her 2002 LS430. For the 2001-2003 LS430, the Skid Control ECU and the ABS/TRAC/VSC Actuator are located separately as shown in Post #2. For the 2004-2006 LS430, the Skid Control ECU was moved and combined with the Actuator in the engine bay. According to the diagram below, the Front LH sensor is wired to terminals 18 and 4; Front RH goes to 17 and 3; Rear LH goes to 20 and 6; and Rear RH goes to 19 and 5 of connector S42. I suspect that you're working on a 2004-2006 LS430?
