Taking the plunge! Help with questions about going from air to springs shocks.
My 2004 UL air shocks need replacing. I've got a set of spring shocks from an LS430 ready to go on (thanks to CL member drunkykidd). Despite reading a few threads, I do have a couple of questions.
1) The air hoses will be disconnected from the air shocks. What does one do with the hoses? Do you just plug them and zip tie them to something?
2) I understand you pull the "compressor" fuse to prevent the compressor from turning on. What fuse is this and where is it located?
3) I'm guessing the car's ride height may change, but only minimally. Will this alter the headlight aiming or any related system?
4) I know the alignment specs differ slightly between air and spring. Why is this? So I'll need an alignment?
5) What else do I need to know before digging into this?
6) The shocks I have ready to go on are from a 2001. Any aftermarket shock/spring is the same for both gens....so I'm guessing OEM 2001 shocks fit fine on a 2004?
Thanks so much!

*** CORRECTION *** The 40A "AIRSUS" fuse that powers the air compressor via a relay is located in the engine bay.

Attached are drawings for the air suspensions and the spring suspension for your reference and comparison. The torque specs are also useful if you don't have them already. Please note that the ft.lbs reading is the last number in the parentheses.

It's the one in the footwell.
*** CORRECTION *** There are 2 fuses called AIRSUS. The 20A AIRSUS fuse in the Driver-side fuse box is not the correct one to pull. The other 40A AIRSUS fuse is located in the engine bay. It powers the air compressor via a relay.

And here are a couple of DIY's I did when I replaced my front and rear struts.

There are 2 fuses with the same name "AIRSUS". The 20A fuse in the driver-side footwell fusebox is for the Air Suspension ECU; the 40A fuse in the engine bay powers the compressor via a relay. I would leave the 20A fuse alone, and pull only the 40A fuse in the engine bay.
Sorry for jumping to conclusion that there was only one "AIRSUS" fuse.

You're absolutely correct, my bad!

This should help... Remember, you only need to separate the seat-back by a few inches so you can reach down to detach a few plastic retainers.
