Parts List for Full Brake Job DIY: Missing Anything?
Car has 87k miles and I am ready to do my first pad and rotor replacement since Ive owned the car when i bought it with 60k on her.
I tried to go with quality components and not any parts store brand items as I want to do it once the right way and forget about it for a long time.
So far I have:
1. 2 Front Rotors: Frozen Rotor Brand- Slotted and Zinc Coated
2. One Pair Akebono Pro-Act Front Brake Pads
3. 2 Rear Rotors: Frozen Rotor Brand Blanks Zinc Coated
4. One Pair Akebono Pro-Act Rear Pads
5. Lexus Front and Rear Caliper Bolts
6. Shop Towels, Brake Cleaner, Thread Locker
7. M8 Bolts to pop off rear rotors if they are stuck
Is there anything I am missing? Are you guys using any other grease or anti-squeal etc on the brakes?

You probably should skip the "Thread Locker". It actually acts as lubricant and causes you to over-torque. Speaking of torque, be sure to properly torque all nuts and bolts. Finally, replace pad wear indicators (one for front, one for rear) if necessary.

Thanks for the heads up. I looked up torque specs as 81 lbs for front caliper and 58 lbs for rear caliper.
I originally picked up the thread locker because i was going to re-use the caliper bolts but after reading up i deicded to spend the 40 bucks and get them for peice of mind
Pad wear indicators should be fine since no warning lights are on showing they broke through the wires

Finally got a nice day to do the brakes. I got done the front pads and rotors yesterday afternoon.
Brake pads are easier to do on this car than any other I have ever worked on. However the rotors were rusted to the hub and required quite a few blows with a mallet to come off.
I did have to run to parts store and buy a 5" C clamp to use to compress the pistons in the caliper.
Getting the rotors and pads bedded in. Everything seems great so far. Brakes are smooth and no noises.
Thanks to Diversified Cryogenics for the rotors and Akebono for the pads.

Yes I would never want to pay the dealer rate to do this job. Im going to tackle the rear brakes this weekend.
So far the fronts feel great. Brakes are nice and responsive. Smooth and quiet with good pedal feel.
