Exactly....two $500 hair dryers! Per seat!

Got it back together today. Wife's butt is toasty now. Hard to justify the cost except if I add this cost to the purchase price of the car and think of it that way. I also had the shop recondition the leather and the foam so it looks and feels better.

If I had known what the problem was before I had the shop tear the seat apart, I may have been able to purchase a used part off eBay or saved a hundred bucks buying it somewhere else, but I couldn't expect the shop to wait a week for parts. Plus who knows how long a used part would last?

If it happens again, the wife will be using a sheepskin cover for sure!

Peltier Climate Control system! The Lincoln brand was the first to receive one and then the others followed. Frightfully expensive part from Lexus - I'm going to do some research in my spare time to see if the sub assemblies from one of the other manufacturers can be used instead of paying Lexus mark-up.

This is what is needed...... Probably less than $50 from Mexico ( it was disappointing to see this made in Mexico part in my built in Japan Lexus)

Was the whole bottom of the seat not getting warm? Only reason why I ask, is it seems that the right side of my drivers seat does not get warm. I can easily notice the left side but not the right.

Most parts are Tier 1 outsourced. Someone had to make it somewhere. And Amerigon, now known as Gentherm, was the first company to come out with the Peltier system. Lexus/BMW and a number of luxury and non-luxury brand names use their components to provide heated/cooled seats.

Is there a trick to taking out this relay? Been at it for a while and it doesn't want to budge. It's at a pretty difficult spot to get a good grip on it.

You can swing the fuse box out by removing its 2 mounting bolts.

How is that assembly fastened to the seat bottom? If I took my drivers side seat out could I remove that assembly without completely disassembling the seat? I'm hoping it's just bolted in there. My driver seat works but it's weak sauce compared to the passenger side. I was thinking of seeing if the assembly could be swapped with the passenger side. My wife drives the car so it really needs a strong drivers side heater though I (sitting in the passenger side mostly) couldn't care less about a weak seat heater!!

Totally not worth it! You'd have to tear both seats completely apart to make the switch and it probably wouldn't make much difference.

if you get some heat on parts of the bottom, I suspect the foam channels that direct the hot air are breaking down. Your heating element must be working or you'd get no heat on the bottom at all.

On our car the front bottom gets warmer than the back bottom. This makes sense as the back bottom channels get crushed when you sit on them so the air flow is directed forward.

If you want a toasty bottom, just install an aftermarket electric heater. Much warmer and much cheaper.

Default Driver seat heater on and off.

Please help. ES 330 2006. The heat is on. NOW during the hot summer days. Cannot be controlled by the switch, even if the airflow is off, the seat is hot.

Temporary fix maybe Un bolt the seat 2 bolts in from 2 in back and just unplug the connectors so there won’t be any power for the heat unless that’s not how the heat works for the seat

Remember, happy wife, happy life. I have the same issue with my driver seat. After reading all this I'm just gonna buy one of the heated pads that sits on-top the seat for 20 bucks and call it a day!
