Default AC Swing not working

Buying an 04 and the Swing function of the AC only works on the right set of vents. The left just doesn't move. I've tried the search function but can't come up with anything. Help.

Do the vents move manually without problems. I never use this feature on mine. It annoys me. Even auto mode annoys me... Lol. I like to be in control.

Everything moves and is free, but no left side.

When one side didn't work, i let it cycle from left to right a few times and it usually "kicked" back into gear and had the swivel motion.

I stopped using the swing feature after they developed an annoying squeaking noise while swinging. Is there some sort of spray I can apply to eliminate the squeaking?

Sounds like a little arm the connects to the vent might be broken. You'll need to pull it off to inspect it. While it's off spray a little dry lube on the joints. This happens when some bright bulb decides to hold the vent stationary to force it to stop moving - or move a different way.

I don't know how to get to it. I'm not sure if my initial plan of a hammer and chisel should be used.

I love my oscillating vents! They had to replace the motor twice under my CPO warranty because of small noises. You probably should just take it to the dealer. I wouldnt mess around with anything so small with a motor.

Center dash panels can be removed easily, plenty of tutorials on here, do a search...

Does it swing correctly when the dual temperature mode is on?

when I have a passenger, the vents swing from side to side but when I am alone they only go center, then back on me. not a big fan of air blowing on me so I turn it off

Default vents

I never use them. I like to set them and leave them in one spot
