Default weapon under drivers seat

Is the storage drawer under the drivers seat adequate for a personal protection device?

Is the plan to take it out and hit someone with it? Sorry, couldn't resist.

What's the question? Will a gun fit?

I have never used that case under the seat personally. Maybe a taser will fit. Does not fit a full size Smith and Wesson M&P. Possibly a small Glock or M&P shield. Now that I'm in NJ it's almost pointless to even own a gun. Ridiculous laws here. Ease of access is not very good too. I kept mine next to me, in the door pocket, or just on my waistband, when carried in GA. The whole idea of carrying a pistol is the idea that you can get to it easily if necessary.

Is it legal to carry there? I would suggest to look at the laws in your area. In California I believe it has to be in a locked box/case and has to be unloaded, but again not sure.

I was able to fit my 5inch 1911 with magazine (single stack) just a moment ago.

NJ is the most restrictive state in the nation. It's impossible to get a permit unless you are an officer or security guard and even carrying in your car is crazy. Your gun has to be in a locked case in the trunk separated from your ammo. Pointless.

It serves as a perfect "mama don't know" cash stash.

HE's in Florida perfectly fine there as long as he's got a permit.

Now I will have to walk out and try my commander.

A small j-frame would fit easily.
