Seat noise "ping and or pop"
When I turn corners or move around I get small but noticeable "pings" and "pops" from the seat springs.
I had an inch of cushioning added to the driver seat when I bought this '02 about 4 months ago and he said there are no springs, just a "pan" that supports the foam. He greased everything he could but I still get these small pops and pings when driving around turns that shift my weight.
Any ideas on a fix?

you can wiggle your seat cushion with your hand.if there is any play it would confirm that the bolts are loose on the pan.if you wiggle the whole seat and have play then it would be your attach bolts in the floor.

After another month or two of driving I'm convinced somewhere in the chassis there is some "play" or movement happening. Usually it's when shifting weight from right to left when pulling out right or left from a stop sign or when I lean forward to adjust my body. Small slight "ping" or "knock" of metal on metal moving just a hair. I love everything about this car and have fixed window and door creak, and a few other small issues but this is driving me nuts. Makes the car feel less than solid.
My concern is going to the dealer and them charging me a ton of labor to look for something that most likely isn't visible to the eye.
Is the dealer the only place I can go to have them try to locate the noise? I weigh 245 and wonder if it will even show up if a 185lb mechanic drives it.
Thanks for the help...

I'd ask for quotes from independent body/trim shops, places that restore cars, places that do interiors & convertible tops, etc. Also, have you considered returning to the shop that added foam to the seat?
