Default New 06 LS430 Owner - questions

Howdy,

Proud new owner of gently used 2006 LS430. 18' wheels, base 'premium' sound (no nav), regular springs.

Couple questions:

1.) If fitted with 17' wheels and snow tires (blizzaks, etc) how is it in the snow?

2.) Any recommendations on aftermarket head unit and speaker upgrades? I understand there's a dash trim kit to allow a 2-din 7' touch screen head unit. Thinking Pioneer 4100 NEX, Alpine PDX amp and Infinity Perfect Kappa speakers. Any quirks to be aware of wiring wise?

3.) Body kits? Love the Fabulous 4 piece kit - front & rear spoiler lip and side skirts. I love the stock ride, but would definitiely like to change the look a little in the aggressive direction. Who sells em?

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Michael

17" wheels and snow tires like Michelin XIce would work great.

The traction control will keep ya safe, the power fades and she recenters itself. The X ice3's are bomber as the Blizzacks, or Generals on a budget.

Traction control and stability trac is pretty safe, not on totally slick greasy roads but thats when snows come in or drive slow 6-8 times a year. The benefits of RWD are many, just prepare for snow, wait out storms.

1) Yes, these cars are awesome in the snow. i am an avid skiier and i take my LS out on ski trips here in alberta nearly every weekend. use the "snow" option and it will ride like a dream.

2) Check out beat sonic before you get a deck. you will need a beat sonic dash trim kit to make it look good.

3) you want aggressive? check out black pearl complete.
