Default wheel nuts

bought some aftermarket wheels. They did not include wheelnuts to fasten the wheels to the hub.
The supplier suggested to get aftermarket lugnuts.
My ? if the manufacturer of these lugnuts have to match the Lexus OEM studs why can I not use the original?
Is it advisable to use steel nuts on an aluminum wheel?

Just use the originals and a torque wrench with the correct spec to install. There should be no issues. If you need a second set they are around $5.00 each from the dealer.

The only reason to go aftermarket is looks or cost. If you go too cheap the bolts will damage easily and rust quickly.

it depends on the wheel design to see what type of lug nuts it needs most aftermarket wheels use a taper design, while factory uses a ball shape

so its not just for looks. more on the sides of safety

Default wheel nuts

thanks for the info
In the meantime I contacted the manufacturer and THEY have the correct nuts, It is a 60 deg tapered seat; the lug set is available at their local tire/wheel supplier.
Problem solved
