KYB or OEM Struts ?
Gotta replace a rear strut and am wondering how many of you go with something other than OEM? My "05 LS has the 18" wheels so it isn't as floaty as my "98 LS with 16" wheels.
I've done a search and it seems like most people go with the KYB. What else would you buy when replacing the struts?

KYB is an OEM manufacturer for Lexus and other Japanese automotive brands, but that doesn't mean they are the same exact struts you would find in the Lexus dealership.
KYB has a reputation for making aftermarket shocks and struts that are firmer than what the car originally came with. FWIW, I bought some Monroes for the LS that were made in Japan and some people have made the case they are the OEM. I have no idea. It could be one part is OEM but the valving is different and gives a different ride, etc.
Sometimes companies contract out their parts and actually get the same parts the dealers get. I know I've seen that happen is cases with Moog parts where it's the same supplier Lexus uses.
So I just wouldn't assume the KYB at Rock Auto is the same exact as what you would buy in a Lexus dealership, but that very well could be the case.
