need opinion: 04 LS430 92k -
hi im looking to buy a guy 04Ls430 sitting around 92k miles, he's asking for 7500$ only thing is, that its Salvage/rebuilt titled. the car has navigation and all that goodies, its one step down from ultra premium.
history:
the car was rear ended, everything was fixed, but the trunk is still just a little off alignment, still shuts just fine. rear passenger door is off alignment, but i see it can be fixed. It also needs a timing belt water pump service as soon as possible.
since i know everyone on here is very knowledgeable about these model , my question is , is it a good buy? or should i pass on this ?

The car is pretty rough...cheap but rough. That passenger door panel has been replaced. Thats the birds eye maple wood, and the armrest/door panel isn't leather as it should be in that car...this car has clearly had a hard life...I'd pass.

I agree looks like a car that has had a hard life....
May be a silly question but What is the reservoir in front of the engine by radiator? My LS430 does not have that....

The "basketball" saddle leather is pretty rare but I would pass. It has enough issues where in my opinion the price doesn't matter. Once a car has been hit that hard it's never the same.

Talk them down. If you really want it. The interior color is rare but looks beat lol. In California bay area that's a fair price. I think I would pass on it being I would have full coverage

Car looks good visually for 7500 and mileage is low. I changed my timing belt at 120k and it looked brand new. Spend a couple of bucks and take it to a Lexus dealer for a full inspection - should cost less than 150 dollars. Ask for pictures of the rear damage - so that you know the damage was limited to the rear only.

can't really tell from your post why you're *interested* in the car. If its just the price, then I'd pass. You can find plenty of 01 to 03 cars in far better shape for the same amount of money. Now if you said I really must have that saddle interior and I'm willing to dump serious money into the car and I know the maint history is otherwise really good, etc...then go for it.

Wise decision to pass, it is really rough.
I test drove one with that Saddle Bag leather it was sweet. Lexus dealership wanted too much money for it though. It too was a Texas car.

Besides the accident it doesn't look like they even took care of it. Pass, and you will be happier than otherwise.
