Default CD Changer Deleted

When my iPhone 4 died there went my perfect built-in phone holder. From the day I drove him home all shiny and new to the present, I've yet to put a CD in it. It became an annoyance and in my humble opinion wasted prime real estate for a dead technology.
So I took the plunge: pulled the radio / changer unit, removed the guts of the changer from its metal frame, then lined the frame with a similar black felt/velvet material that is used in our arm rest storage and glove box and PRESTO -- secure spot to store a phone or wallet that's easy to reach when entering or exiting the car, nothing to slide around by the shifter and scratch the wood or take a dive during a quick turn and be lost under a seat.

That's pretty cool. I would run an 1/8" stereo jack like a Grom unit and power to the iPhone and call it. Play music from the phone and it sounds great.

I was thinking the same thing! Would love to stream music from my phone just need to figure which one to get. There's two holes in the metal frame that held the changer, either could send a wire into the new space so there wouldn't be a cord hanging out to look at and be in the way.

I use the Grom unit. Vaistech is also popular. Either one does a good job.

Nice idea. Although the CD changer is a bit valuable to me.

Love the extra space gained, especially with the flip door still operable.
