Default Radiator replacement

Hi
Tried searching on this topic but can't find the info I am looking for.
My question is what are the deference between the withe towing and without towing radiator. From what I gathered so far w/o towing the core is 5/8" and w/towing the core is 1".
Is ther any other defiance & are they interchangeable. Because if it is interchangable I will go withe the 1" as the UAE is a hot place most of the year.
Today was reletavly cool at 45 c (113 F). A week I got 50 c (112 F) and my car dos not display more than tant. A Frind of mine got 60 c (140 F) on that day 😭.

Thanks.

The towing radiator should have better cooling capacity. Not a bad idea for your local climate.

Yes they are interchangeable. I recently installed the towing radiator, got it online for I think about $75 somewhere.

That's is funny. Most likely supply and demand. Very few people tow with 430. Good deal on a radiator though. I will probably pick one up too for when I do mine at 180k or 2nd TB / WP job.

Just curious and none of my business. That said, how much is the shipping to UAE? I presume the Toyota or equivalent coolant is widely available in your area. Thanks.

Hi sgretchko, no issueshear it’s not the coolant that I need it’s the radiator; I have sense ofearly leak from the top plastic tank.
Just for reference a new radiatorhear is 1900 AED (560 $). From RockAuto the most expensive is 480 AED (130 $) +Shipping 480 AED (130 $).
If we do the math that is960 AED (260 $) is a saving of 940 AED (255 $) or 1/2 the price.
So since Denso radiator is260 AED (70 $) + Shipping 480 AED (130$) = 740 AED (201 $).
And as long as it is below1,000 AED (271 $) we don’t pay the 5% tax. So as you can see it is much cheaperto order it than get it locally.
Sorry for the long replay.Just a not it is not always cheaper that is why I double check several options beforeI buy.
Thanks

I went with the towing radiator also just because it was cheaper. Either will work fine.

Just a heads up, check your radiator cap.

I had to replace the radiator and cap. I swapped with a towing radiator and my temp seems to be lower in general.

The car should operate with the coolant between 190 - 200 degrees for ideal efficiency. Too cool is not good just like being too hot. I don't believe under normal conditions the towing radiator would change this. At 170 degrees the thermostat opens. I am tempted to use this radiator in mine when I swap it out at the next TB / WP service. Did you actually use a monitoring device to see if the coolant temperature is any different after the swap?

The thermostat controls engine temp regardless of radiator size. The larger (1") tow radiator also helps cool the transmission if and when towing.

That reminds me is the slandered thermostat 170 or 180.
I plan to do the radiator, thermostat withe O ring, upper & lower hoses.
