hard to tell if its truly nice or not, its listed by the kind of dealer that buys at auction.
its an '02, its black, no mention of maint records.
and the price is way high.
it might sell in a couple months for around 10k, if they're lucky.

I agree ... the price is really high for an '02. I paid far less than that for my recent '06 acquisition, at an MB dealer nonetheless.

I agree the ad is very vague......only 1 pic.......but the mileage is king....less then 80k......If it was super clean and could be had for 12K I think it would be a good buy. Sounds like u guys got some great deals on your cars.......cars being sold at auction has become the norm these days.....yes its nice if its a trade in at a dealer.......but these days sooooo many cars are sold at auction that it is no longer a dirty word.

I paid $11,200 as I recall for my 04.....w 130k on it......oooober clean......yes 10k would have been a lot better.....but I was hunting a specific color.....

Many? Almost EVERYBODY, overprice's their vehicles. It is such a pain trying to convince them of the market price range. But end of the day, it's their car, they can ask for whatever makes them happy.

I almost bought a 2005 LS430 from Clearwater Lexus in Florida a few weeks ago that only have 12,000 miles on it. Only reason I didn't is because it had a long gap in service, and I was afraid it had sat in a garage for years without being driven. Which wouldn't be surprising, consider only 12K miles.

i agree, these cars imo are the best buys in the used luxury car market now.for the price of some cheap no thrills new small car you can have a true luxury car with all the quality toyota could muster up.how cool is that?
now talk about over priced, look at the asking prices of the used c-4 and c5 corvettes.i think they have lost there minds.

It all depends upon the vehicle condition, maintenance, accident(s), etc. It never hurts to make an offer. The person may need cash.

Timing belt service and a lot of other major items due. Ozone kills the rubber parts of the suspension over time, not miles. Low mileage classics are kept in nitrogen filled capsules to keep things like that in check. Not a big fan of the chrome wheels. Dated looking. It was a fad IMO.

Polished aluminum like on my 2000 Platinum Edition is my personal preference.

Also, the 430 looks so much like a copy of the merc at the same time. Especially the rear end.

The 460 is where the LS went back to hinting at the S class, versus looking like a Chinese blatant ripoff.

I do like the additional trunk space and the smart key of the later ones though.

Test drove an 05 before I bought my 00, nice but the guy wanted 17k and would not budge.

Saw it side by side with my 1990 and decided the look was not for me and bought the last of the 400s instead. The 460 was tempting me lately, but I think my next new car will be the LS500, in a few more years.

Looks like it's in good condition. Said timing belt struts and brakes recently done. Made the offer They countered with 11500.
