Guess the number and win a Ceegar
Just dropped off my 2005 LS430 at the local Lexus dealer this morning (Tuesday).
The air conditioner is intermittent, occasionally it will work but more often than not you have to press the automatic button and the off button multiple times to get it to work. It could be as many as 20 cycles of these buttons till it comes on.
Once it's on it will blow you out of the car with cold air, it works very well once it starts. It even regulates the temperature as it should.
Who wants to guess what this trip to the Lexus dealer will cost?

1450 plus tax but comes with "free" loaner, cup of coffee and a car wash.

Picked up the car at 5:00PM, outside temperature 86 degrees started the car and wonderful cold air came blowing from all the vents.
Total Bill came to $160.
The only thing they did was evacuate and refill the system, no parts.
Time will tell if that's all it was.
There was a note on the bill that said if the recharge doesn't do it the car will need a high pressure hose and regulator of some sort, cost $700

Who ever guessed closest to $1600 gets the Ceegar because shortly after the recharge several weeks ago the air went out again, they kept the car a total of one week trouble shooting the problem.
Turned out to be a built in relay inside the compressor.
The dealer took 10 percent off labor and 10 percent off the compressor, high pressure switch and hose.
