Don't forget to check your coolant level and test for electrolysis

rog....will do.....I am sure the new plugs will give me a little boost as well......the best my car has ever done is 21mpg........but I always goose it on the highway just for fun...and that throws my average off.
How often does the car update the mpg......? and how do I look up voltage on my nav screen?

If I am measuring highway mileage I will reset when I jump on the highway. A soft reset will reset all the mileage data.

Turning the car off is the only way.

so my 05 with 65k miles tested with a .2 a month ago on the electrolysis test. After a thorough coolant drain and refill, meaning complete drain of the radiator and both block plugs, I now measure .03 or .04 regardless of whether the engine is on or off. No idea how old the replaced coolant was, however.

Hey guys, I have a new OEM Denso radiator that I never installed before I sold my LS. I bought the one with the "tow package" which is more heavy duty then the stock but fits as the regular unit. It's yours $60 shipped. Great to do at your next timing belt / water pump job or if yours is getting old and rusty. Part # 221-4100 PM me.

Again, the color plays tricks on my eyes, maybe it's my eyes? Straight from the jug into a clear water bottle, pink. Take said water bottle, cover it 3 sides, look at night, starts to look orange. (holy **** all kidding aside it might be my eyes!)
This seems to simulate our reservoir, which looks orange to me, at night. Take the intake off, open the radiator cap, at night, orange. And mine was just done at Lexus.
Open my wife's hood, GM SUV, has Dex Cool. Reservoir is white and light hits it from all sides. Coolant looks pink, not orange. I have topped this off with Dex Cool from a jug, that is clearly orange.
To prove I am not crazy, Prius owners have posted pics online, and questioned what color their coolant is. To me, orange, with red being a stretch, but not bright pink.
In my experimentation, I wasted an entire jug of sllc2 50/50, analyzing the color, but felt I needed to.
Also, I find it odd on the Lexus maintenance post above, that brake fluid is every 3 years. Every person I've ever talked to about it says 2 yrs. as it attracts moisture and can corrode the system from the inside out. I would stick to 2 yrs. because I know better than Toyota engineers...lol (I do it myself on the BMW and stick with 2 yrs, the car even has a reminder....)

Well my measurements using a Fluke 77 handheld meter showed the same results for before and after changing my coolant. Roughly 0.32V. I'll simply change my coolant using the time or mileage recommendation as per Lexus...
