your car before your ls430?

Almost 3 years ago, the last car before the 2001 LS was a 2001 SAAB 9-3 w/5 speed, fast little car. 32MPG+.
Just the highlights of the things that went wrong with the SAAB - Catalytic converter, clutch, head gasket, radiator, A/C clutch, front oil seal, all 4 widow regulators, fuel pump and hail.
SAAB Stands for
S omething
A lmost
A lways
B roken
And there was always something broken. It made it to 195K or close to it. The dealer declined to take it on trade for the LS. There was so much wrong with it, I just could bring myself to sell that many problems to someone so we had Make-A-Wish come pick it up.

I cruised in a 2002 Acura RL. It was totally loaded with AWESOME factory navigation, and you could input/edit/manipulate the nav system while the car was moving! I would replace the LS's nav system with the RL's in a heartbeat if I could!
Before my 2002 3.5RL I cruised in a white 1994 Acura Legend. Imagine that...a legend driving a Legend.
Here's pics of both...

1981 Mercedes Benz 240D.
Indestructible. My first car; drove it for 12 years before buying the LS430.
Still have it; runs like a top.
He's the one on the left.

VW Jetta TDI - 250K miles and going strong. Saw the grandma owned LS on a whim, put an ad on CL and sold the Jetta for asking price in less than a few hours so was forced to go get the LS since I now officially needed a car.
Haven't regretted my decision at all except when putting miles on such a cream puff of a low mile car. Oh well - it's a car and it's meant to be enjoyed as a material product. As I customize the interior options to my needs and the maintenance upkeep to my standards, I find no real reason to complain about - everything seems to meet my current needs so this is a keeper (well - most of my cars are keepers until the high miles are piled on and the depreciation curve has run it's course).
