The LS 430 I got has an aftermarket satellite add on. When the radio is on and you power up the unit it switches to satellite. Any guesses as to how they hooked it up? I have a lot of other projects before I get time to take it out and look at it.

For the recently acquired '06, installed the USB port for the VaisTech MML by removing the cigarette lighter. Looks clean and has a stock appearance. Easy access for integrating audio (both internet radio and recorded music files). Charges phone or device through the USB as well.

Hey Brad, Thanks. This install probably works best for users who connect their iPhone for music / internet radio since the USB port is so accessible. Users who install a USB flash drive or iPod and leave it connected might prefer concealing the USB port as I did on my other LSs in the center armrest compartment (post #5). No drilling holes; the stock cig lighter can be re-installed with this. I used a marine USB extension with rubber cap over the access port since the install location is in a somewhat vulnerable area in front of the cup holders. The cap seals out dust, liquid spills, etc. There are similar USB extensions available without a cap which would be more suitable for a dash mount away from the cup holders and not facing up.

Velcro'ed in the glove box. Ran USB extension back to cig lighter by ashtray.

I am amazed by the sound quality. Easy to install and use. And no more cables!

Just this week I also jumped on a Grom USB with Bluetooth.

The dealer in the UK has been really helpful and quality is pretty good.

The box fits just behind the bottom stack of controls, tucked under a crossbeam (like a poster in the previous page) and the good thing is that it fits tightly so nothing rattles.

I also like the ideas I'm seeing here for putting the USB cable that now is hidden between the seats and the transmission tunnel.

I also jumped on a new toy! But I got the Vaistech MML, it seemed like a superior device to the Grom IMO.

They had a %25 holiday discount, those MML's were running $209.99, couldn't delay it anymore, so I got me one.

You won't be disappointed, KING. Where are you planning to install the USB outlet?

Hahaha, relying on your great feedback. But yeah, I think it should be a solid piece of technology.

Still thinking about it, I really like your idea out putting it in the cigarette lighter.
Maybe just throwing it under the arm rest though, we'll see once it gets here.

Default audio upgrade

can anybody suggest an audio unit to replace the headunit with a double din that is compatible with the ML system.?
I like something I can use a USB or SD card in the front.
I am looking for something with good quality
