HID Headlights and oncoming drivers flash high beams?
Does anyone else get this with the 04-06' LS430? I had the dealer re aim the headlights when it was in the shop but I still get the occasional high beam flash from oncoming drivers. I'm assuming they are mistaking the intensity of the HID lowbeam with being a high beam? It doesn't happen anywhere else but dark rural roads and it seems to go up in frequency if it's raining.
I'm at the point where I flash my highbeams back just to let them know it's my lowbeam.
I don't have this problem with the STI (which also has factory HID xenons projectors) I know for sure the lighting on the LS430 projectors have a much wider output in the lighting compared to every other car I've driven. Maybe this has something to do with it? Another minor thing I've noticed is that the HIDs on the STI appear a few shades darker blue compared to the whitish cool blue HIDs on the LS430. This of course might not mean anything.

don't do anything. I haven't had it happen in a long time, but if it happens again I am going to flash them my high beams back to let them know they are crazy.

^^^ Hah, now that you mentioned it it's probably gonna happen again very soon. lol
Yes, they always auto aim up and down, it's especially noticeable on start up.
It mainly happens on those dark roads, never had it happen anywhere else. I may just lower the lights myself since it's easy enough, but I wanted to see if a lot of others have experienced this.

I have a clear lens swap on my projectors, and when I first put them on, I had them raised a bit high, to the point of where they would reach the very top end of the car's trunk infant of me.
Every body was blinded by them and I was flashed basically by every on coming driver, but I had such good visibility when they were higher, or at least what I thought.
So for the safety of everyone else, I had them lowered a bit. The correct alignment for them is to have your cutoff right under the mirror of a sedan car that is infront of you.
Your STi has a clear STi lens on it, and also a different cutoff shield inside the projector, therefore it will have a different hue than our LS430 projectors, would look bluer whiter or even yellower depending on that. And all of these things can be modded to your liking. And remember no 2 projectors are ever exactly the same or equal.
