Default Ls430 Paint Job

How much is it to get a good paint job on a 2004 Ls430?

I'd say $6000-7000 for a serious pro level paint job..quite a bit more if you are changing colors because they have to take a lot more of the car apart to paint all the interior sections.

If you want a different color or don't like the condition of the paint on your car now, I honestly think you're better off in most cases selling your car and just buying a different LS.

It's just a huge amount of money that you're not going to ever see again.

Yep I agree - pro paint job not a good investment on a normal car

I've seen very decent paint jobs for a couple grand that look good on other cars, the thing with Lexus is the OEM paint is so nice and slick, to get similar quality from a bodyshop is going to cost double that, minimum.

What are you trying to accomplish? Different color? Same color/whole car? Or do you just have one panel that has a problem? Sometimes they can get a great match painting just one or two panels, depending on color (black for example is easy).

I had my LS430 repainted in factory black with some accent colors when I did my aero kit install. I did some of the prep work myself as I wanted them to paint the kit and various pieces off the car. I had fitted the kit and removed the parts myself to take down and have them paint, then took my car in to get that body worked and painted. Body work was minimal with them fixing a few dings on the doors, shaving the roof antenna and rear emblems. Cost for this work was about $5,000. Oh and I also installed the kit and various parts I removed myself after all the paint work was done.

The OEM finish is a tough road to hoe. I had the front of my car painted last year. Very good job indeed but NOT up to Lexus standards. Their paint is about as good as it gets.

My car was repainted due to a chemical spill on my car at the dealer last year. I pushed hard and got it. I was a 15 year customer so they had to. They painted the entire car and did some light bumper repair and said it would've cost 10k at normal prices (I'm sure they did it for a lot less). And I made them pay for my next service for all the aggravation, which happened to be the 120k.

Agree totally. I would sell it and find one with better paint job that was garage kept and looks good to you.

I might get flamed for this, but I cant believe no one has suggested wrapping the car.

if you don't like it, you can just take the wrap off.
