Hey Lav,
Of course I immediately googled Tesla tires after rambling all kinds of crazy stuff to u this morning. This article was the first thing that popped up

The guy was complaining about how expensive his tires were ( MXM4's ) and that he only got 26k miles out of them.......then he goes on to see if he is actually saving money with electric vs gas etc.
I read a few more articles and come to find out Tesla is not biased.....basically go with whatever tire fits on their rims. Like SW said....Tesla owners searching outside the box after first set of tires did ok....but they are looking for better......
I too would be interested in your reviews either way....Mich or P7....and I also agree with something Brewmyown said.....all tires feel good for the first 5k....hell Im still in the honeymoon phase with mine....

I still don't understand his point. These tires are no more expensive than any other tires for this car, in fact they're considerably cheaper.

Let's try this one more time - the purchase of a Pirelli over an AS/3 meant that the honeymoon phase does not just last the initial 5000 miles but for the duration of the treadwear re: you paid a premium for your honeymoon phase

Yes it is amazing how long this thread has been chuggin along. Goes to show we all want the best tire for our cars and are willing to do a little research to get it right. Even with all of the bickering we still have it narrowed down to just a few tires.....and that is just personal pref.......
warminwisc.......wants the car to feel sportier....has purchased sport tire
JPV me.............wants smooth and quiet w good handling.......P7s
LAV...................wants all of the above and...is happy with Mich ...wants premiers
The question is answered at this point......but it is a moving target. Next year a new tire will pop up out of nowhere and we can start all over again.

Completed 2nd half of a 2,200 mile road trip for Thanksgiving. Left Charlottesville, VA in misty rain on Sunday arrived home to Bella Vista in misty rain on Monday. The entire return trip was in rain. We came home via I 64 through VA, WV, KY,IN, IL and MO and then I 44 south out of St Louis. For those of you who have never driven the WV turnpike I 64/I 77 through the mountains, it is one 55/60 mph sharp curve after another. These tires hugged the road on those curves at 70/75 mph like you were on a straight away. Sunday was a 663 mile day and between the pure joy of driving the LS and the great feel of these tires it was a snap.

I meant we are all so smitten with our tires till the very end, this thread goes on forever. I am sure the P7 Primacy Premier feel pretty much the same, drive nice, they are all grand touring tires.
17's are pretty cheap get more expensive as you go up of course but 18's and up get in the 200 plus range.

If these don't live up to my expectations they'll be dumped. All grand touring tires don't feel the same, they have different sound characteristics, ride, etc. Lexus vehicles in general, but especially the LS rely on good tires to deliver the ride and sound isolation drivers are looking for. In short, choosing the right tire for a Lexus is really important.

As long as it's going for 29 pages, anyone else really turned off by Pirelli's nasty 2016 calendar?
They wanted to make a "statement" because they used to use attractive women in them and that made the man-haters mad, so they went in this direction instead :

Until this made the news I didn't even know Pirelli put out a calendar.
