Replaced another air shock and still not air pumping to the front. Tried disconnected battery to reset to no avail. I put the ride to high and the rear is rising. Does the car needs to driven for air to pump to the fronts.

I just drove it around the block. It's throwing high error along with red triangle error on/off.

OK. The "high" error is the key information. The air suspension ecu will not pump up the front suspension if it thinks it is already too high. You do not have to drive the car for the compressor to work. Either you have a bad height sensor in the front or it is out of whack and not calibrated properly.

Is the high sensor that sits on top of the shock. If it's then I tried a few and it didn't make any difference. How do one calibrate the fronts?

Just replaced the high censor and still no dice. I'm at a lost. Perhaps it's time to take it to a lexus specialist tomorrow. I wanted to put the old in to see if it works but I highly doubt that it'll work.

That is really weird. Sucks you are having these issues. I don't know what else to suggest. I assume you ran the sensor through its full range to see if it engages the compressor.

Try sending a personal message to LScowboyLS. He was a Lexus master tech for many years.

Edit. Strike that. He has not been around since April. Just checked. That's too bad. Maybe RKW can chime in. From his post he seems like a Lexus tech.

First and fall most thanks to Lavrishevo for your invaluable input. What I thought I replaced in post #20 turns out to be not the height sensor. Anyway, my friend took the car to his next door neighbor's shop and used his computer to command the air compressor to pump air into the front shocks and it worked. I now have air in the front shocks but the I still get the "High" and "Triangle" warning" while driving. The computer also diagnosed the Hight Sensor as the culprit like Lavrishevo originally suspected. Funny thing is I never touch height sensor nor has any issue with it before. How can it be faulty just by replacing an air shock. Now I need to order a height sensor part# 89406. Wow over $300

I am thinking if I need to spend $300 or $400 for 1 sensor alone, I might as well convert my air suspension to steel suspension. My only concern is will I still get the "High Hi" and "Triangle" errors by converted to steel suspension and not replace the faulty height sensor?

Thank you for your follow up and kind words. I am not a mechanic by trade but I have rebuilt a couple of engines and I work with friends on cars. I try my best but I am by no means a Lexus expert.

Thanks for the information regarding the computer. I have the 2014 version of Toyota Techstream and I have never seen anything in there to force the compressor to turn on. I have to go back and see if I can find that. Maybe he just ran the air suspension test and it kicked the compressor on for the test. It seems logical that if the sensor was thinking the front was already high it would not send any air to the front. Anyway, I am happy you have made progress.

Two suggestions, possibly search eBay or a salvage yard for a used height sensor. You are correct, if the height sensors are removed or out of whack you will have the error message constantly. That would drive me nuts too.

I have no idea what machine they hooked my car up too. I wasn't there to witness it. Most of use at clublexus aren't really mechanic, perhaps some are weekend mechanic but we all love to save $$ with DIY. I did search on ebay for used height sensor last night but non came up that fits LS430. I'll be honest and really don't mind spending the $300 for 1 sensor if I know for sure it will resolve my issue, but I may be throwing $300 for a new sensor and it still may not resolve anything. But from the reply from the post above by Lavrisevo I have really have no other option. This turns out to be much more that I bargain for.

If it makes you feel any better it will cost upwards $1000 in parts alone to convert the suspension and you still have to replace the sensor if you want to get rid of the warning on the dash.

OMG! I finally figured out what the problem is. The freaking mechanic installed my right height sensor the wrong way when he was replacing my lower control arm. I hooked my car up to Techsteam and ran diagnostic on the air suspension and it read right front height sensor error. Funny I thought it was the left, therefore I jacked the car up and the position of the height sensor link sits funny. The link was in a very slanted position. It just doesn't look right. I compared it to the left side and what do you know it was in opposite position. Re-installed the height sensor link that connects to the lower control arm correctly and no ERORR. . For the record the car drive amazing now with the blown right front air shock replaced. The blown shock made a lot of noise on uneven surface which also made the steering wheel shakes over even the tiniest bump. After awhile you forget how nice the LS430 drives because of worn suspension components. Once again thanks Lavrishevo for you help.

That's great Zodiac. Perseverance pays off.

Speaking of control arms, I have to do my uppers before too long. I'm getting a little pop here and there under certain conditions and I have already done all the lower bushings.

Apologies for the old bump, but figured it was better than starting a new thread. I've been putting off my right rear replacement for a while but I need to do it soon, I have the used replacement sitting in a box. Are there any special tools needed for connecting/disconnecting the air lines? The hardest part for me will probably be taking out the rear seats etc but I just want to be prepared for anything I need on the air lines.
