New guy on the block
Bought my first Lexus this weekend after a 2 year search. 05 LS430 with 95K. Best 7 hour drive home that I've ever had in a car. Only complaint is the cup holder won't open. I don't allow beverages in the front seat to start with so I guess it doesn't matter. Been a lurker on here for several years and finally joined.

Hello !
Welcome to the forum and congrats on the car.
Was going to pick up a 2004 LS430 in Obsidian for the old man before he decided on a different car.
The ride is smooth as silk, enjoy it !

Welcome. If you search you can likely find some posts on the console assembly or ashtray which will have steps to take apart console or the transmission selector deck which you likely need to do to expose enough of the cup-holder mech to see what is jamming it up.

In the case of my mint 95 Sc3, the internet salesman of a GMC/Buick who is a huge Lexus SC/Supra fan from Austin, Texas was selling an SC originally from Pittsburgh, PA wanted 5500 and was going to put an ad on Autotrader so time was of essense so I went into skill mode and showed up and wittled that number down, down, down to 4800. I asked for 4600 but he wouln't budge. I felt like I stole it and later confirmed it with no leaks and engine issues.
