Default Window Tint and heat rejection

Anybody care to share an opinion on what the best window tint is for heat rejection? Getting the lightest tint possible. My main concern is to reduce the heat.

Think you want to go ceramic then. It's expensive compared to normal tint but supposed to be very effective. Someone on here from Florida or equivalent should chime in on what's most popular for heat rejection if they feel it everyday year round.

I would recommend Huper Optik ceramic tint. It's expensive but it rejects heat extremely well.

I'm interested in tint for heat rejection purposes as well. Does anyone know if it makes sense to tint (for heat rejection purposes) a UL model? I think the UL model has some kind of special glass like double-pane or some such to help with this.

check out a product called AIR BLUE TINT. It rejects the same amount of heat as 15% tint yet it is almost perfectly CLEAR. people who live in states with strict window tint laws love the product. I've got it on my windshield and you can barely tell its there.

I have a UL and I went with 5% tint all around with 35% on the whole windshield. It makes a big difference. My car still got hot during the summer, but now it's a lot cooler.

Looks like I will be going ceramic. Unfortunately, no Huper Optik automotive installer in my area. Might be 3M.

hi just ready your question and wanted to throw a couple of things to think about... some factors include color of vehicle, for example i had a 98 ls in white the pinnacle beige tint looked great, now have a silver 2002 and went with 3m color stable and a great product over all.. a major consideration to ask the tint dealers is visibility with then highest heat reduction. as you increase the tint to reduce uv and heat it inhibits the visibility out of the vehicle just make sure the product you pick gives you the visual day to day that you want to enjoy the car. you can get all the heat reduction you want but if you make the car not comfortable to see out of whats the sense
safe driving

Good youtube example of it

I put this on my white LS430, didn't want the gangster look, it does keep the heat out so far, we are hitting 90 in Dallas now and looking forward to the summer 100's. I did it to prevent skin cancer, but the heat rejection is top notch as well.

I live in Florida and although I don't have tint on my car yet, I will say that any tint, ceramic or otherwise, will still not keep your car cool when sitting for any length of time is the grueling sun. What it will do, is help keep the UVs from destroying your interior and help the A/C to keep the car cooler while not working as hard.

But what is the tint for really... keeping you cooler when you're in the car. That's my take on it...
When I ride in a car that does not have tint, I can feel the sun beat down on me and I need more AC to compensate... when I ride in my tinted car I don't feel the rays of the sun beat down on me and the car cools much quicker. And I feel cooler.
The car, any car, will heat up in the sunlight when it's just sitting there... nothing is going to change that.
I use a sunshade in the front when parked to keep the rays out and then tinted all around...
These puppies fit the LS400 and 430 perfectly...

Bob the tint film that really keep the UV rays out of the car is expensive. Few of the tint shops I have been to actually have normal 3M, Suntek, and Johnson on display and have heated light bulbs to show the difference in the heat penetrated on the opposite side. Brands such as Huper Optik is pretty amazing how much it shields the heat and you cannot even tell that there is a heated light bulb on the other end. But again you will need to dish the $500+ price tag for the higher end product.
