Default DIY license plate cover

Found a piece of plexiglass that was blue painted. Scrap the paint, cut it and turn it into the license plate cover.

you would literally need to wetsand both sides with fine sandpaper, and then polish it out or clear coat it

not to be negative but in this case it is much easier to just buy one, the sandpaper alone would be more then the cost of a new one

I love DIY projects as much as the next guy, but i've gotta piggy-back on jayclapp's comment here. If it's not curved backwards at the edges (to form a seal against the license plate), then all it will do is let dirt back behind it and thus make it harder to clean and dry the plate.

hi im new here
so i cant do a lot yet
and i dont speel weel

so here is a neat trick
if that is plexiglass
take a torch, the kind you heat up water pipes with, preferably propane but map gas works too.
and pass it over the edges
it will turn them smooth and shiny, it will look like someone made it just for you

i used to make subwoofer boxes, you know the kind that rattle the car next to you, for show cars and thats how i would prep the plexi to look perfect.

this really really does not work on lexan just so you know.
i learned that the old fashioned way. then i put the fire out.

Some states, covers are illegal and will get a ticket. The cover could however be useful against red light cameras if it casts a glare...

...Well, not to mention, there IS a special coating you can spray on to your plate cover to make the plate unreadable to traffic light cameras.
