Default Different size tires on my LS430

Hi everyone,

I noticed that the tire sizes of my recently bought LS430 are as follows:
Front: 215/60R16
Back: 225/60R16

Is that a problem? What do you recommend, keep them or go for a change of tires+wheels on one side??

Many thanks.

225/60R16 is the correct size.

215 60 16 is 1.8% smaller than 225.
225 60 Sidewall is 5.3 inches
215 60 sidewall is 5.1 inches

225 60 diameter 26.6 inches
215 60 diameter 26.2 inches

Speed wise
225 60 @ 60mph is = 58.9mph on 215.

Do you have standard wheels or aftermarket?
Check wheel width on fronts vs rear if aftermarket.

Thanks for the responses. I took the car to Goodyear and replaced the backs, they were worn out anyway. So now I have all 215's. I know that it is not exactly factory size, but then not a great difference.Drive feel got better instantly.

I thought the two factory options were 225/55R17 and 245/45R18 (Sport). Is this an early version?

225/60-16 was the standard tire size on the LS from the 1993 through the 2002 model year.

If Goodyear will exchange the tires you just bought, I recommend that you get four tires of the correct size - 225/60-16. You will get more secure handling and particularly better braking with the correct size tires.

Not to mention the added strain on the drive train from spinning faster then the actual speed.

Acceleration should be faster with a smaller, narrower tire (less rolling resistance), but rpms are higher at any given speed therefore MPG is worse at highway speeds. This of course would be barely noticeable with such a small change
