Anyone have these on their LS430 or 400/460?

I purchased a brand new set and had them installed tonight; old tires were Michelin Primacy MXV4's.
To me it seems like these tires are far noisier from about 25 to 45MPH. Freeway speeds seemed fine, but I go around 35 for extensive periods every day.
Luckily Discount Tire has a 30 day Michelin guarantee - should I just switch back to the Primacy MXV4's?

What's the quietest and longest lasting tire you've had on your LS? Performance is not high on my list of priorities for this car (I have a 300zx TT that meets that need). All I want is safe, quiet, and good in all weather would be a bonus. I'm in Ohio.

Those are really good tires for performance and warm weather. I would take them back. Those are really sports car tires vs touring / all season. The MXV4's are great. There is also the Michelin Defender, which is a 90,000 miles tire. Goodyear Assurance ComforTread is highly rated and quiet as well. Those are my 3 favorite.

Yeah, the Defenders are Michelin's newer tire. Very similar design to the MXV4. You gain a 30,000 in tread life but sacrifice a little traction.

I had a set of Pilot Sport A/S Plus on my LS. They are noisier at city speeds, have unbelieveable traction in dry and wet conditions, have good traction in snow as well - never got stuck in two winters, have very good cornering stability and are very responsive to streering wheel input. These were the upsides.
Now for the downsides: if you drive spiritedly these tires will last you 20k miles. Mines lasted 18k miles: rear tires developed small cracks on the sidewall closer to thread with 30-40% thread left, one of the front tires had pieces of thread ripped out throughout the whole tire - it became very noisy at highway speeds. If you drive average/slow these tires could last 30k miles. Me personally - I will never buy Michelin again, after spending $1200 for a set of tires I expected more life and better built quality.
I have pics of cracks and ripped out pieces of thread if people don't believe me.

Sometimes new tires are initially noisy for short amount of time. Also since the tires sound different than old tires even at same volume you will initially be more sensitive to the new sound.

But if you have put more than 250 or so miles on the tires and they are still noisy to you I would take them back.

Available on all Michelin passenger and light truck replacement tires. If you're not 100% satisfied, bring the tires and original sales receipt back to the place of purchase within 30 days for a new set of tires."

Going to take advantage of that this morning. I'm sure the sport tires might be fun in warmer weather and dry roads, but this car is my kid carrier - when I want to drive like a maniac I hop in the twin turbo.

But yes, drove them again this morning. My 7 year old son even commented how much louder the tires were.

I must be getting lame in my old age (I'm 40) but the old set of Primacy MXV4's had 60k miles on them and had about 40% tread left.

Discount tire rocks; just called them and it's 100% no hassle swapping them out for a set of Primacys.

I am usually a Michelin guy, but when I purchased my 2006 LS430, it had newer Hankook Optimo 727's installed. I am very impressed with the traction and how quiet they are and would use them again. Check out the pricing on these... These have a great reputation on other forums including "bob is the oil guy"...

I had a set of those Hancook's on my old minivan. They were very good tires and rated just below Michelin in Consumer Reports at the time. This was back in 2008 I believe when I purchased them.

I had the Optimo on a loaner 013 Passat did not like them. The Defender is a T rated tire so I would stay clear. MXV4 V rated over H.

T rated is capable of sustained speeds of 118 miles an hour. In case I needed to go up to 168 right?

Not sure your point, drive however fast you want. The LS is rated for an H rated tire from what I recall.

That's what I'm saying. Nobody drives that fast. It's not really a factor for a large sedan. T rated is plenty good.
