Thanks for all the nice compliments guys. I really love the color scheme too. Just picked up the Lexus sport rear sway bar and bushings. I'll let you know the difference when I have a chance to get it installed.

I changed my A/T fluid, replaced the strainer and fitted an oil cooler last week. It is an involved job.
We drained out the sump, dropped it and replaced the strainer & pan gasket, then sucked as much fluid as we could out of the system, about 7L worth. Replaced the sump, pumped about 3.5L into it,then turned the engine over for 10-15sec,pumped in a further 2L,then ran the engine and kept filling the system until we'd replaced the ~7L we drained out. Let the engine warm right up then topped up the sump until it was draining back down out of the inspection plug hole. Took the car around the block, then re-inspected the level.

My car had 140k kms on it and the fluid looked like 10k old engine oil... I'm really not believing the whole 'good for life of the car' thing...unless the expected life of the car is about 80km...

Regards,

Justin...

I never been a fan of removing too much fluid. Aisin recommends the drain and refill vs flushing for the very same reason. I felt like she shifted maybe a little smother after the service but she was shifting great before so kind of hard to tell the difference.

What did you screen look like when you replaced it?

I wasn't all that keen on running it empty either, hence the way we re-filled it to minimise potential for damage.
Draining just the sump & refilling gets out less than half of the old fluid, and the new stuff mixes with the remaining old,so unless you keep changing it over and over,it'll never be fresh.

The strainer was black like the fluid, but clear. No chunks of anything in it.

Regards,

Justin...

Lexus of South Atlanta charges $99 for the procedure so I am going to do it again in probably 6 months to a year. How many quarts does the whole thing hold? About 10?

$99 including labour and genuine WS fluid? Wow!!! Take that deal and run!

Fluid alone cost me over $130 AUD,and labour in a friend's workshop as I am only retail now and not getting dirty for a living anymore was about $150 AUD.

As I said before,we sucked out about 7L of fluid (7.5 quarts or so) and that would've been about 80-90% of it so I'd day you'd be about right with 10 quarts all up.

Regards,

Justin...

can u do me a favor and take pictures of the inside top liner? im looking to purchase a UL myself and the inside roof liner looks like its been treated with some kind of water solution and it doesnt look right to me. thanks
The roof liner on the CL and UL is suede, that's why it looks different. I like it in my CL, but most people who are not car people won't notice it.

Just wanted to post a few pics of 35% ceramic all the way around that I had installed today. Fantastic how much it cuts down on heat and UV. Rears look a little darker because the privacy shades are up. Tinting the windshield makes such a huge difference. AC cools down the car a lot faster.

Be picky. I did a 500 mile search and this jewel was about 480 miles away. Not ideal but worth it.

I wanted to get your thoughts on the sway bar? Any improvement? I'm considering that myself.
Car looks good with tint.

Have not had a chance to install it. I have had the parts for two months now. This is the Lexus sports rear sway bar and bushings. I plan on getting to it within the next two weeks. I did do the rear motor mount and the 4 rack bushings. This was a nice improvement and very easy to do. You do not have to remove the rack.

Anyway, I had heard good things about it but none of the comments are from cars with the air suspension.
