Default Dash Cover Removal

Well, I removed pretty much everything from inside the dash but I still can't get it to come off the firewall.

I also can't remove the top portion of the A pillar, i'm not too sure if I need to remove it or not to pull the dash.

If anyone has done this let me know what i'm doing wrong on pulling the dash cover.

Curious, why are you removing your dash? When I did my interior swap on my GS, the dash wouldn't come out because the A pillar covers were in the way. Not sure if the LS is the same way.

I'm attempting to replace a blown tweeter, but i'm going to do both anyway since i'm going through the trouble of removing this dash.

Taking it apart this far isn't hard, probably took me 3 hours, the hard part is pulling the dash, if I have to pull the dash with the reinforcement bar it's going to take longer, LOL.

That looks extremely difficult to me. I'm blown away that it only took you three hours to get that far. It would take me three months to do that.

It looks like a lot of time but it's not too bad, i think the hardest part is being careful not to break any tabs or scratch the wood/liner but now i'm stuck at this point because i don't want to break anything, LOL. From this point it's taking me a long time, haha. it's been a day now with no progress.

Ive done the same.

At the point you are at you can remove the tweeters without completely pulling the dash. If you want to pull it you will have to remove the steel tubing support to get it out.

How did you get access to the tweeters? the AC Tubes and the reinforcement bar is in the way.

Once the cover is loose you have enough wiggle room to access the bolts holding in the tweeter/mid assembly. You just need to be a little flexible and have a long extension on your ratchet. Oh and a bit of patience.

I can do that on the passenger tweeter but not the drivers side. that air duct is too thick to move.

It is possible as I did mine in that manner. Like I said a long extension helps. I had about a 12" extension to get to the bolt. Patience is important as it took me a little while to get it.

Do you have a UL 430? I don't see how you can reach the driver tweeter. There's way too many ECU's in the way on that side and two air ducts blocking the path. There's no room for an extension with a wobble to reach screws let alone room to even pull out that tweeter.

Feeling around back there I still didn't find the tweeter wire that connects to the harness.

It looks like I need to unhook every connector along the tunnel and kick panels if I were to really pull the dash just to replace the driver tweeter. It's not blown yet but

I'm ready to put it back together!
