i just purchased a 2006 ls460 and as title says car honks every 20 min or so. its the security beep, 8 beeps i believe. i heard it happen once when i first got it. and now its to the point of doing it every 20 minutes or so. the car also seems to take a couple extra kicks of the starter to start. thinking maybe the battery might be going. i just attempted to keep the doors unlocked to see if its still does it.

your door isnt locking, or its not closed all the way. OR your keys are still in the car.

Well I checked an all the doors are locking. And I bought the car with one key fob. Checked for one in the car, an there is nothing. Must have some sort of electrical issue. Question about the key fob is it normal that when you push the lock button twice it triggers the panic? I was hoping not because that's just retarded. No other car I've owned does that including my ls460

its really like weird times now too. its def not constant... it wont do it for hours then all the sudden it does it, like someones trying to break into my car. its strange. thing seems to have some elec issues.

Not to get completely of topic here but every time i use to wash my car with the smart key in my pocket the car would beep, read the manual didnt refer to anything like that, never knew wag at was the cause, any ideas anyone ?

On washing it with the key fob in your pocket the car would beep and do a whole bunch of weird stuff. I read the manuall and water does affect the door handle sensors. so now I just put the key fob far enough and it stopped acting weird.
