Question ls400-ls430 interchangeable coilovers

hey just wondering if ls400 coilovers fit on a ls430 i know spring rates, height might be different but just overall do they mount up? reason why i ask is because my friend just upgraded his coilovers off his ls400 and is giving me them for free for my ls430 but dont know if its worth the 2hr drive to go pick them up. thanks btw..

You didn't specify what year his LS400 is. That said, the aftermarket LS400 adjustable coils fit from '89-00. The 95+ the suspension components are longer so suspension parts made specifically for 95+ is not guaranteed to fit on the 94 and older. Springs and valving are going to be different but by how much is unknown.

Personally I wouldn't but if you have that burning desire to try, a 2 hour drive to pick them up isn't bad. Let us know if you do.

Yeah, I read that before too.. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is
If the top and bottom mounts are the same for aftermarket coilovers for a 2000 ls400
And 2001 ls430 they look almost identical

They are similar lengths, but the rear bottom mounts are different. Depending on the brand, the range of adjustment might work and the mounts might work with washers or some modification.

Long story short dispite what people are saying, not saying they arent right but...... It will bolt up top and bottom with a little bit of grinding at the bottom . spring rates are a little different but not by much depending on coilover brand height will be different of course but means you will go lower on the 430 chasis. Anything can be modified to fit. Come on people stop being *******s hope this helps anyone in the future. 🤙🏻
