lower glove box+user manual will help you. to reset the 'Repl A/C filter' message, just start the car, thenpress and hold a/c OFF button for 5 sec.
don't mess up the airflow direction. it's from TOP to BOTTOM.

AC filter is super easy. Open glove box - take out little shelf. This reveals a tabbed door at the back of glove box. Remove the tabbed door. This reveals a while housing that has a tabbed door approx 2 inch by 10 inch. Depress two tabs at bottom and the white door comes out. Reach in and slide out cabin filter and slide new filter back in making sure to use correct orientation for airflow as marked on filter. Its a 10 minute job if you go really slow and requires no tools (just a flash light). The LS430 cabin filter is a snap compared changing it on to my son's 2011 Mazda 3 where the same operation is a 30 minute job performed largely blind and upside removing trim panels and screws and 2-3 chiropractor visits afterwords.

Default A/C Filter

If I am reading this correctly, the A/C filter and the cabin air filter is the same? I had a message "Change A/C filter" So am I correct that it means to change what I call the cabin air filter? That's the one in the lower glove box?

Thanks

Read the owners manual. If you don't have one, order one for free from "my lexus".

simple process and their filters are inexpensive. Delivered to your house in about three days.

Default Great info, as usual.

I got the filterheads filter, $24 and change. One nuance is that the manual says the arrow goes up (on the OEM filter I guess), whereas the above note and video says airflow is top to bottom and the filterheads filter shows air flow direction so you have the arrow down.

The owners manual clearly states (and shows) that the cabin air filter is to go in with the arrow pointing in the upward direction. That is given in a special NOTICE box in the manual. Apparently the Lexus air filter does not indicate direction of airflow, but to make sure you have the carbon side installed correctly.

You're on your own if you use an aftermarket filter.

Is there a sensor that causes the screen to display Change A/C Filter, or is it based on mileage or time like the Maint. Req'd indicator? I just changed my filter in June and now I'm being told to change it again. I suppose I could take it out and look at it.
