Default Steering pull to right

My 2002 LS430 has developed a pull to the right. I have to keep steady pressure to the left on the steering wheel to keep it from wandering to the right. I have checked tire pressures and all are ok. Would this be an alignment problem or something else?

Thanks guys,

Harry

It's prolly an alignment issue just bring it to your local tire shop (wheel works, tire rack , etc.) an have them inspect your car.

Sounds like an alignment issue.

You said that it "has developed a pull to the right" which indicates that something has changed, but on the off chance that you just happened to notice it recently, BE SURE that you aren't just in a traffic lane that slopes towards the right side of the road to facilitate water drainage (as almost all roads do). Compared to many cars the LS is VERY sensitive to road surface slope, and pull towards the lower side of the road pretty noticeably. The easy way to check this is to get out on a deserted two-lane and drive on the left side (oncoming lane) which slopes to the left and see if it pulls to the left in the same manner. I say all of this because I once started thinking that my alignment was off for this exact reason -- it always seemed to pull to the right. I took the car to a Lexus dealer for an alignment check and they insisted that it was perfect. The Service Manager got in the car with me and we drove to a section of concrete roadway that he knew to be very level (and that he uses for the purpose of road testing after an alignment), and the car tracked perfectly. We drove beyond the level section and sure enough, it immediately drifted right. Later, I tried the driving on the left thing that I mentioned above and it pulled left the same way it normally pulls right.

Tire wear issue most likely....new tires and even air pressures usually fix this

Default Steering pull to right

I tried I6Turbo's test and it still tracks right even when driving on the eft side of the road.

I'M RUNNONG mIchelin Primacy 225/60R16 MXV4. Prob ging to need a new set in 5000-7500 miles so the tires are worn but seem to be wearing evenly.

Thanks,
Harry

Default steering pull to right

My probem did indeed turn out to be an alignment issue. Both front tires were worn on the inside to the point that I had to put on a new set. Got Michelin Primacy 226/60r/16.

Thanks for all the replies and jnput .
