Dark Blue Mica Pearl LS430 President in the house
Some of you already know: it's been a month seen I bought a blue LS430 President (UL for Europe) from 2001. At first I was disappointed about the color. On pictures the car looks very dark, almost black but when I saw it in real life, it was really blue. It was a sunny day though. I still bought the car since it was the best one for sale; I believe it only had 1 or 2 owners before. Had all the services and got the most options compared with the others. It has a pretty "low" mileage: 171.000km = 106k miles. In Holland I consider this low. Also, in the WHOLE country there is like 8 LS430's for sale. As if no one wants to sell their LS.
As you can see in this picture, it's blue but very dark. At some angles it even looks black. I tried to make a close-up of the paint.
I googled the color code 8p4 and according to Paintscratch it's Dark Blue Mica Pearl Metallic but I've also found the name Indigo Ink Pearl too.
Either way, I have to admit that I kind of learned to love this color; it's different than the "regular" black and the pearl is really nice!
Oh and about the specs, I believe this car has almost all possible options except keyless entry, bluetooth and adaptive/laser cruise control (I don't know if this was an option at all at that time). Like an UL it has air suspension, front seats heating and cooling, moonroof, rear and side sunshades, fridge, massage (it's more like a giant mobile phone vibrating, so this was a little disappointing), adjustable rear seats, rear seats heating, soft door closer.
Especially the soft doors are real neat. But it makes me lazy too: I can't even close the door of a Toyota Yaris. Even the door of a E90 needs a second attempt. I guess I am spoiled for life now.

Have it clay barred and waxed and it will be amazing - I had mine done on a black cherry LS and the paint looks like it is glowing from a light source underneath.

Congratulations! That's a good color - I like it. I wish I can find my LS soon. My initial preference is White followed closely by black but a few days ago I saw a black LS430 on the freeway and it must have been just fully detailed because it honestly looked brand new! I actually thought it was brand new until I saw the LS430 on the rear end.
