I chickened out yesterday on a 2001 with 120k with perfect dealer maintenance. It went for $6150 on ebay. Would have made a nice kid car.

Agree! I would never think of an LS as a kid car, especially if you want to do just liability only to save on premiums. An old accord or civic would be a much better and cheaper option.

Many of the old cars don't have side air bags or stability control. In a collision, there is no substitute for the weight of a big sedan. They are a perfect reliable, safe and cheap car and for 6K you cant go wrong.

That's true, definitely a big safe sedan! Guess just thinking of a kid rollin around in a lexus seems a bit much to me, but an older one, maybe not so much as a newer model.

If anyone is looking for a nice 05 black/tan LS430, mine is still for sale at Coad Toyota. I don't know if they did any kind of work to it, but they generally do oil change, check brakes, rotors etc. I can tell you the one thing that needed attention was the motors for the steering wheel. Otherwise, I think the car is pretty solid and great looking. I'm sure their price is negotiable. Call Steve Nunnery. He did me right when I traded my car for the 08 LS460. Good luck.

Hi RZ, I want to trade my LS430 2004 too. You mind if you could let me know the figure of trade-in for that 08 LS460? Thanks much.

I commented in a separate post already, but just bought a Silver Jade 01 for 7300. Has 102K on it. Super nice, but not many options other than the ML sound system.

Default 2003 Ls430

My recent purchase has Blue Onyx Pearl without navigation or M.L stereo. one owner in excellent shape... (broken cup holder piece, expandable door pocket malfunction and needs lower control arm bushings). Has 146,000 well maintained and documented miles for $8500.00

Craigslist in Los Angeles after looking for a week.

I absolutely love this car so far, only had it a month.

12/31/14

2001 black onyx with 49,999 miles. Completely base as far as I can tell other than the moonroof. I verified 6 pages of records from day one including timing belt, water pump etc all at 43k.

Paid $9,450 from a dealer who couldn't sell it for 3 months just sitting on his small lot. I found it on Autotrader after searching for one day.

On a side note 3 days later I found and negotiated a deal for a friend on a 2000 GS400 with 52k miles for $8600, all records verified as well.

If it checked out fine that would have been a heck of a deal.

After viewing older LS430 advertised on Craigslist and Autotrader I'm glad I was able to visually inspect them because it seemed there was reason the cars were priced below market.

I've bought two cars sight unseen, one on Ebay and one on Autotrader. I think I was very lucky on both.
